Synopsis: Durga (Raveena Tandon) marries Sanjay Saikia (Sayaji Shinde), a tea plantation owner and is subjected to constant physical and psychological torture by him. Durga's spirit shatters when her husband rapes her one night. She finds an emotional anchor in her brother-in-law, Sunil (Sanjay Suri). She bears a daughter, Deepa (Raima Sen) but Sanjay wants a son. With Sunil silently supporting her, Durga nurtures her daughter and endures all the pain and the humiliation piled on her. She is forced to run away from Sanjay, when despite her protests, he wants to marry off Deepa, who is just thirteen years old. Sanjay accuses Sunil having an illicit relationship with Durga and fathering Deepa and brutally kills him. Durga decides to leave home for her daughter’s sake. Time passes by, but Sanjay comes after them when he finds out that the family property has been bequeathed to Deepa. He tries to kill Deepa, but Durga emerges as a raging lioness, resolute in her determination that her daughter will not suffer like her.
