Synopsis:

Spanning the two decades of the 1950’s and 60’s, ‘Khoya Khoya Chand’ is a tribute to the Hindi film industry’s golden years and its magnificent people. It is the tumultuous love story of two young people afloat in the film industry in the 1950’s and the heart breaking choices that they have to make. Nikhat (Soha Ali Khan) is a young girl who goes from a fledging extra to a starlet and eventually a great heroine. Zafar Ali Naqvi (Shiney Ahuja) is a young rebellious writer who comes to Mumbai to work in the film industry and through whose eyes we see the triumphs and travails of a writer director. Zafar liberates Nikhat from the stranglehold of a powerful actor Prem Kumar (Rajat Kapoor) and falls in love with her in the process. The film traces the journey of Zafar and Nikhat’s volatile and turbulent relationship. Eventhough the backdrop of the film is period it remains modern in its narrative, characterization and treatment.
